Butterfly

We are studying insects this summer and we started with the butterfly, we received our Painted Lady Larvae in a self feeding container, whew!
For about 7 days those tiny caterpillars ate, and ate, and ate and became big fat caterpillars, I have to admit the children's book about the very hungry caterpillar is actually true!
One by one they made their chrysalis's, hanging head down and shaped like an upside down "J" and at this point Laney could not handle them as much, we transferred the delicate chrysalises into the soon to be butterfly garden
WE have our first butterfly pet, can you see all the excitement, Ahhhh... to be a little girl and hold a delicate butterfly, such wonder and amazement at this incredible transformation

God you are the creator and sustainer of all life, thank you for the chance to watch these girls marvel and learn about you and your creation

S is for ssssssnake!

It's not a party unless you have a snake!
Eric and Christine had an end of the year graduation party for all these great homeschool kids, and what better for homeschool kids than a baby bull snake found in the grass!

Look aren't we brave!

Laney has had rollie pollies, grasshoppers, horny toads, caterpillars hidden in her bedroom drawer, you name it and she wishes she could keep the snake
